Jonas grew up in Gothenburg, in a family of builders and boat restorers, and trained as an architect in Copenhagen. He worked for six years in the offices of Lundgaard & Tranberg and Sergison Bates before founding NORR ATELIER in 2009, at thirty-one.
His work is recognisable for its calm massing and precise junctions — a preoccupation with how a roof lands on a wall, how a stair meets a floor, how a window sits in thick stone. He is a patient client of contractors and a stubborn defender of the 1:20 detail.
Outside the studio he sails a small wooden boat on the Øresund, badly, and collects Swedish vernacular building manuals from the nineteenth century.
